Global Revenue Ranking of Chinese Mobile Game Publishers in May 2022

Sensor Tower data statistics show that in May 2022, a total of 40 Chinese companies were listed in the TOP 100 global mobile game publishers revenue list, with a combined profit of more than 2.3 billion USD, accounting for 43% of the total revenue in the list, as reported in detail below.

This May, Tencent, NetEase and HoYoverse still have absolute dominance in the mobile game market, occupying the top three spots in the ranking.

Lilith Games launched its urban mythology 3D card game Dislyte on May 10, which successfully topped the US iOS and Google Play mobile game rankings on the day of its launch, with publisher revenue up 10% month to month.

Since the second half of 2021, Evony: The King's Return, an SLG from Top Games Inc.’s ZhenYou Studio, has maintained a strong growth rate. Driven by this game, ZhenYou studio ranked 8th on the revenue ranking of Chinese mobile game publishers.

Since the launch of the new event Hunter Squad at the end of April, Long Tech's survival mobile game Last Fortress  has seen rapid revenue growth, with a 33% improvement in May. Together with the solid performance of the mobile SLG, Dawn of Watch, the publisher's revenue grew 2% in this period and ranked 12th on the list.

Thanks to the continued revenue growth of Arknights, Mahjong Soul, and Azur Lane in the Japanese market, Yostar Limited's revenue has risen 22%, advancing two places to the 17th place this month. Among them, Azur Lane saw its revenue surge by 69% because of the special event 誠閃の剣 搖光の城  that opened on May 26 in the Japanese server.

Strategy game development company ONMET has expanded its business to the anime game market with the RPG Kaisen of Girls launch in Hong Kong, Macau,  and North America in April, with publisher revenue up 22%  this month.

With the start of Arknights' 3rd-anniversary celebration events, HyperGryph's revenue saw a strong wave of growth in May, surging 313% compared to last month and returning to 27th place on the revenue ranking.
