Three matches were held yesterday in the Honor of Kings Challenger Cup, where GK swept EDG.M 2:0, WB beat BOA 2:0, and YYG took down GOG 2:0.
In the match between GK and EDG.M, in game one, the two sides were closely matched, with the lead in gold traded back and forth. Then, despite EDG.M gaining an edge in gold of 3k, GK took a final victory in the end.
GK Baishou earned the MVP Award in game one of the match.
In round two, initially, EDG.M invaded GK’s jungle area and killed Da Qiao, taking the First Blood. But GK immediately retaliated, killing three champions while losing one. After the 11-minute mark, GK began to snowball in gold. In the decisive last team fight, GK killed the jungler and support from EDG.M and destroyed EDG.M’s nexus, taking the win in both the game and the match.
Between WB and BOA, WB Nuanyang had excellent performance in game one. In game two, WB Qiaoxi ended 7/2/6, helping his team secure a victory in both the game and the match.
After losing the match against WB, BOA was eliminated from the upcoming Playoffs stage of the tournament.
Between YYG and GOG, YYG is from the National Competition and defeated GOG 2:0, which comes from KGL, so this was considered a surprising upset. The two MVPs were given to Qingyu and Gumeng. The victory has made the competitions in Group A very challenging.
