The LoL World Championship Finals between T1 and DRX will be held on November 6th. However, this week, DRX's veteran Support BeryL was trending on social media in South Korea and China for a far-fetched reason: his love of Genshin Impact.

During a live streaming at LCK's official broadcast room, BeryL said he was anxious in the morning when he couldn't log in HoYoverse's Genshin Impact.

On that day, the entire DRX team was invited to visit an aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia, but BeryL didn't show up. It turned out that after Genshin Impact 3.2 was launched, he locked himself in a hotel room and tried to log in to the game immediately.

Unfortunately, the hotel internet was so bad and BeryL just couldn't log in to the game. He went to the official LCK live-streaming channel, spamming bullet comments of his frustration.

After three hours, he almost went to sobbing and said:

"Why can't I open Genshin Impact?",

"I tried for three hours, but it didn't work. I could play Honkai Impact 3rd, but I couldn't get into Genshin Impact",

"I started doing it at 10 am. I didn't go to the aquarium (all my teammates went there). I just wanted to play in the hotel room by myself",

"I can't open it with VPN, and I can't open it with cellular data. I can't access Genshin Impact this morning. I'm so anxious."

Some images were showing BeryL getting the full new characters and weapons in Genshin Impact, but later some players confirmed that picture editing tools modified these images. Till this day, we have no idea if poor BeryL has got his dreamed Nahida.

BeryL's love to Genshin Impact can be traced back to 2020. In November that year, after winning the LoL World Championship with DAMWON, BeryL spent a handsome amount of money into the game as a celebration. 7.7 million won (~6,860 USD) on the night of the victory to be exact. That's about 448,000 primogems.

To BeryL, Genshin Impact is much more than a hobby or a distraction. At Worlds 2021, fans also noticed that BeryL used Genshin Impact as a secret warmup tool before dominating the game against FPX. Maybe his chance for the world title 2022 tomorrow really depends on whether his luck with the Nahida banner.
