Capcom's "Resident Evil RE:4" is a full remake of the classic survival horror game "Resident Evil 4," originally released in 2005. The game is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and features a complete reconstruction of graphics, scenarios, and game systems.

The latest preview video of "Biohazard RE:4" showcases various gameplay situations that captivate the viewers. It includes exploration of stages, battles with creatures, and new elements unique to this game. The video features Leon exploring the area around the lake at night, fending off attacks from Ganados, and using a boat to move around the lake. The video also shows Leon interacting with the merchant and modifying weapons. The weapon modification options are diverse, and players can choose to buy new weapons or upgrade existing ones.

In a recent interview with the developers, our fellow media friend Famitsu asked the producer, Mr. Ryohei Hirabayashi, and the director, Mr. Yasuhiro Anpo various questions and concerns that arose from the latest trailer and gameplay videos, which were released on February 24, 2023. The developers provided several comments as they prepared for the game's impending release.

As a member of the development team, I feel that we've finally reached a resting point. After last year's October announcement and the release of the PV on the 24th, we've been able to see some of the user's reactions. It's a feeling of wanting them to play the game right away (laughs).

The interviewer asks if that means the developer wants users to play it immediately.

Yes, that's right. At this point, it's enjoyable to see the users' imaginations and speculations, but there are parts that are a little frustrating or scary. We've done what we can do, so we want them to have fun as soon as possible.

The interviewer mentions that it's been quite a project to participate in, and the whole team has worked hard to respond to the users' expectations.

Although there's still some time left before the release, we plan to release a demo version, so please look forward to it.

The interviewer asks about the production concept and the highlights of the game, which is described as "escaping death and experiencing the pleasure of defeating enemies."

In the "Biohazard" series, the basic concept is to "overcome fear and experience catharsis." Among them, "Biohazard 4" is known for its exceptional action, so we put emphasis on the achievement of overcoming fear through action and feeling a sense of accomplishment by defeating enemies.

Although it's a horror game, it's also a game where you can feel a sense of exhilaration by fighting and defeating enemies. Therefore, in this "Biohazard RE:4," we aimed to enhance that feeling of accomplishment through power-ups while also heightening the horror atmosphere from the original game and taking both to even greater heights.

The interviewer notes that the graphics of the original game still hold up, but the team likely had some difficulties in reconstructing them for the new version.

The graphics of the original game are indeed very high quality. However, when compared to the current generation, some parts may feel lacking in information and density. Therefore, we were conscious of creating a game world with a high density of information and atmosphere, using high resolution graphics.

In the latest PV that has already been released, the Ganado, a parasitic enemy, was shown in a particularly vivid way, causing shivers down the interviewer's spine.

The team is glad to hear that. Since the game's source of horror comes from parasitic enemies rather than viruses, we focused on expressing that disgusting feeling through the graphics.
